We were founded in 2014. Our goal is to develop and share knowledge of the maritime industry to students and professionals worldwide. To date, we have published over 50 titles (print and digital) on a range of topics, including marine engineering, navigation, process industry and port logistics. Our authors are experienced teachers who are experts in their field.

The maritime world is continuously changing. So we monitor day-to-day developments concerning innovation, new regulations and technology and incorporate these into our publications. Our content complies with international standards including the IMO Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping. We also develop innovative tools to facilitate our customers in their learning process including e-learning, 3D videos, and Augmented Reality.

Medical care at sea EN

Although seafarers undergo regular medical examinations, a crew member may unexpectedly fall ill or become injured as a result of an accident on board. If this occurs seafarers will have to rely on themselves for medical care and treatment - professional medical assistance or facilities are far away. For this reason ‘Medical Care’ and ‘Medical First Aid’ are important elements of the STCW. A STCW certificate is mandatory for all seafarers in order to be able to deal with these situations accordingly.
